Greetings from Virginia Beach!
My name is Rocky LaLiberte and I own VaBeach.com, the first and still #1 ranked Virginia Beach website. I started VaBeach.com back in 1995 when less than 3% of the population had actually experienced the Internet. I was an AOL subscriber for many years before the Internet came along and brought the online giant's immensely succesful run to a screeching halt. The Internet took a lot of people by surprise, but I was lucky enough, (and desperate enough), to realize that this World Wide Web thing could end up being pretty big. I figured at the very least it would be a hobby thing for smart people who had disposable income. It occurred to me that smart people with money take lots of vacations - so I took a chance and started putting Virginia Beach online.
The early site was cute in that bulldog puppy sort of way. A face only a mother could love. You can go to the "Wayback Machine" website and see some of the earliest versions of VaBeach.com.

In fact, it's lots of fun to go back and look at just about any website from 10 years ago. My how things have changed.
I recently relaunched my website, with a lot of help from Ned At Quik Internet Of Virginia Beach. It's a big change since all of my previous sites were static and didn't use databases to keep track of all the businesses. If any site screamed out for modernization, it was mine. I finally listened to Ned and I'm really glad I did. Thanks Ned.
Enjoy the new site. I'm going to use this space to talk about my favorite place on earth, Virginia Beach, VA. Mostly I'll be talking about restaurants, hotels, shops and special events. If you'd like to suggest a subject, please feel free to ask.
